1128 Vehicles Seized in Yaadga for Helmet Violations

Yaadga:Over a four-day enforcement period, authorities in Yaadga have seized 1128 vehicles from road users who failed to wear helmets, as announced by the regional director of the national police, Comrade Kito Yaya Soulama.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Commissioner Soulama emphasized the importance of civic responsibility in road traffic during a media briefing. He reported that 973 vehicle owners have been fined a total of 2,219,000 currency units, with penalties imposed upon presentation of helmets. Additionally, 155 vehicles remain impounded.

The regional police force has called on all road users to adhere to traffic regulations and be mindful of the potential consequences of traffic accidents. They have also urged community actors to participate in awareness campaigns, highlighting that road safety is a collective responsibility that cannot be managed by the police alone.

The police have issued a reminder to users of two- and three-wheeled vehicles across the four provinces of the Yaadga region: "Wearing your helmet is protecting your life. Respecting traffic rules is preserving the lives of others."
