15 Young Professionals in Dano Receive Installation Kits After Vocational Training

Ouagadougou: The special delegation of the municipality of Dano, in collaboration with the Children and Youth Fund/Child Protection and Youth Training (FEJ/PEFJ), has provided installation kits to 15 young individuals who recently completed their vocational training programs.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony, overseen by Denis Zanre, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Dano municipality, took place at the town hall. The event marked the distribution of start-up kits and working capital to the young beneficiaries. Denis Zanre emphasized that the distribution of these kits is a critical step aimed at enabling the participants to apply their skills, develop income-generating activities, and build a future with dignity.

The young recipients were selected from those who completed a three-month advanced training course in trades such as electricity, carpentry, hairdressing, sewing, and mechanics. Additionally, they received training in entrepreneurship and financial literacy. The kits, which included nine sewing kits, two woodworking kits, two hairdressing kits, one mechanics kit, and one electrical kit, were valued at 4,870,000 CFA francs and funded by the FEJ/PEFJ project.

Each trainee was awarded a training certificate and a savings booklet. Addressing the beneficiaries, Denis Zanre stated, "This equipment is an opportunity but also a responsibility. Use it wisely. The success of this project will depend on your personal commitment and your determination to succeed." He further highlighted that providing these kits is a solution to youth unemployment, with a commitment from the municipality of Dano to support the settlement of these young professionals within the community.

Boureima Darankoum, head of the FEJ/PEFJ project in the Dj´r´ region, discussed the challenge of professional integration for young tradespeople, noting that many face difficulties entering the job market due to a lack of material and financial resources. He explained that the partnership with the municipality of Dano aims to combat youth unemployment and promote empowerment. The initiative, costing over eight million CFA francs, was primarily funded by the FEJ/PEFJ project, with additional support from the municipality of Dano.

Darankoum encouraged the beneficiaries to engage actively in their projects through responsible management of their kits and working capital, urging them to exhibit courage, determination, and creativity in their micro-enterprises. He expressed appreciation for the dedication of the special municipal delegation of Dano to youth development.

The 15 young individuals committed to using the equipment responsibly to contribute to their community's development. They expressed gratitude to the FEJ/PEFJ project, the municipality of Dano, the trainers, and the provincial directorate of youth and employment of Ioba for their support.

Certificates of recognition were awarded to the partners, trainers, and municipal officials involved in organizing the training. Both the municipality of Dano and the FEJ/PEFJ have committed to monitoring the progress of these young people and providing ongoing advisory support for their activities.
