Ouagadougou: Thirty fire officers from 14 African countries officially completed their training on Friday at the Higher Institute of Civil Protection Studies (ISEPC) in Ouagadougou, following a ceremony marked by an appeal from the authorities to carry out their duties with professionalism, humility, and a sense of service.

He urged the new officers to demonstrate rigor, professionalism, and teamwork in emergency situations, while remaining committed to the values of solidarity and humanity. The Director General of ISEPC, Lieutenant-Colonel Zouno G©rard Bambara, urged the new graduates to exercise their command with humility and discernment. ‘Be fair, competent, trustworthy leaders, and remain humble,’ he declared, adding that a leader convinced they have everything under control can put their team in difficulty. He also emphasized the human dimension of the profession, reminding everyone that every intervention involves lives and demands compassion and commitment.
Sponsor of the promotion, the Minister of Security and Civil Protection of Togo, Colonel Calixte Batossie Madjoulba, praised the cooperation between Burkina Faso and Togo in the training of civil security officers. He stressed that the security, humanitarian, and environmental challenges facing Africa necessitate the strengthening of states’ operational capacities. He presented the ISEPC as a regional center of excellence and invited the new officers to place service at the heart of their commitment: protecting populations, serving their nations, and saving lives.
On behalf of the class, the major and general delegate, Second Lieutenant Gaoussou Tagnan, assured that the skills acquired will be put to use in future missions, while emphasizing that the training also allowed them to build a spirit of brotherhood among trainees from different African countries. Joining on January 26, 2026, the 14th class has 30 officers, including five women. After five months of training, she has a 100% success rate, with an overall average of 13.62/20. Second Lieutenant Gaoussou Tagnan ranked first with an average of 17.75/20.
