Kogho:The president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Kogho, Bia Topan, presided over the official ceremony for awarding 35 scholarships to students from three secondary schools in the commune. The event, held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, was part of a partnership between the town hall and the Children and Youth Fund project.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the scholarships were awarded to students from the Kogho departmental high school, the Tollingui General Education College (CEG), and the Tanghin n°1 college. During the ceremony, each scholarship recipient received an envelope containing 60,000 CFA francs, along with a scholarship certificate.
The project, implemented over two years, began during the 2025-2026 school year and is set to conclude in January 2027. It provides support to some students for the first time, while others are receiving aid for the second time. The project's terms specify that beneficiaries must not repeat a grade or leave the Kogho commune during the support period. Violating these conditions results in forfeiture of the scholarship, with the student being replaced by a candidate from the waiting list.
This initiative aims to support the schooling of students and contribute to their retention in the education system.
