409 Newly Immersed Sailors Commit to Patriotism in Guiba

Zoundweogo: On the sidelines of their graduation ceremony on Saturday, February 14, 409 newly immersed sailors took a solemn pledge to be good citizens of their country. 409 of them are immersing themselves in the procession before the municipal authorities and the entire population of the commune of Guiba this Saturday, February 14, 2026, to mark the end of their patriotic immersion.

According to Burkina Information Agency, named "BURKINDLIM BAOOR‚¬Å¡¬°" [in the Moor© language, meaning "unquenchable fire of integrity" - Ed.], the newly immersed women made a solemn commitment before the people to be model citizens and "to be ready to answer the call of Faso, in order and discipline. This resolute commitment to the homeland is unequivocal," said Ou©draogo Farida Ashley, spokesperson for the newly immersed women.

Six weeks of physical training, as well as moral education, all essential for meeting the expectations of our society. These young students, all from middle school, were trained by instructors comprised of teachers and members of the security forces serving in the community.

They are trained to become ambassadors of patriotism, to strengthen discipline in schools and to defend republican values. For Tonsour© Gouba, the PDS (Democratic Party of the commune of Guiba), this immersion must be a "vital driving force for the sustainable development and structural transformation of Burkina Faso. And from now on, the country can count on its conscious youth, resolutely committed to defending its territorial and institutional integrity, everywhere."

Addressing those involved in providing this training, the PDS expressed his gratitude for the effort invested in making the immersion program a reality. "Know that this is a sacred duty performed behind the scenes, and the nation is grateful to you. Grateful for your time and energy dedicated to providing this training to young people. This is a truly revolutionary act. Not all medals of honor are worn on the chest. Some are ingrained in the conscience. That is what I am giving you," the mayor stated.

An educated youth, well-informed about geopolitical, geostrategic, and geoeconomic issues, would never turn against its country. On the contrary, it becomes a defender at heart and passes the torch to future generations, throughout the ages. This, in essence, was the message delivered by the ceremony's patron, Lieutenant Abdoul Kabirou Kiemd©, District Police Commissioner of Guiba.

The parents' representative said he was pleased with the positive transformation observed in the children. "When they leave for or return from school, they walk single file and respect traffic signs. They take care of their bodies, their rooms, and their clothes. They are also obedient. This is already a good omen for us, as parents, regarding their future," he rejoiced.
