50-Year-Old Mechanic Pursues Baccalaureate in Niangoloko


Niangoloko: A 50-year-old bicycle mechanic, Molobi¨ Marcel H©ma, embarked on the written tests of the 2026 baccalaureate session at the municipal high school on June 23, 2026.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. H©ma, a specialist in adjusting spoked rims, did not have the chance to attend school during his childhood, which troubled him for many years. Driven by a strong desire to gain knowledge, he began attending evening classes, successfully obtaining his Primary School Certificate (CEP) in 2008 alongside some of his children.



Undeterred by previous setbacks, he persevered with his education, ultimately achieving his Brevet d’©tudes du premier cycle (BEPC) in 2018 after multiple attempts. Now, as a candidate for the baccalaureate, series A, session of 2026, Mr. H©ma aspires to secure the diploma and further his academic journey.



He expressed his joy in pursuing education, stating, ‘It is a pleasure for me to conquer knowledge. Already, my current level allows me to travel through time and space.’ His story serves as a testament to perseverance and determination, demonstrating that learning knows no age boundaries.
