Houet: A total of 621 candidates began the written Baccalaureate exams, 2026 session, on Tuesday in the commune of Bama. The official launch took place at the Bama Departmental High School by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), F©lix Bay©, through the opening of the envelope containing the philosophy exam.
According to Burkina Information Agency, for this session, 641 candidates were registered, including 367 boys and 274 girls. Statistics provided by secondary school officials indicated that 20 candidates were absent, namely 9 boys and 11 girls. Thus, 621 candidates, including 358 boys and 263 girls, actually took part in the exam.
Candidates are taking exams in series A and D, distributed across 21 classrooms under three juries: juries 48 and 49 housed at the Bama Departmental High School and jury 50 installed at the Gasmo School Complex.
By giving the starting signal for the tests, the PDS provided advice and offered encouragement to the candidates. “Like your younger brothers in primary school who gave us a respectable success rate, I hope that you, the older students, will also achieve a performance among the best at the national level,” Bay© said.
Comrade Bay© also praised the commitment of the various education stakeholders, while reassuring them that all arrangements had been made to ensure the smooth running of the session in the commune.
Among the candidates, confidence reigns despite the stress associated with the exam. Candidate Douo Kota expressed optimism, stating, “This morning, I feel very good. We are starting with the philosophy exam, and I pray to God that the topics will be favorable to us. I wish my classmates good luck and an excellent session to everyone.”
The written Baccalaureate exams will continue until July 2, 2026. The first results are expected on that date, while the end of the session is scheduled for July 10, 2026, in accordance with the calendar of the ministry in charge of Secondary Education.
