Ouagadougou: 769 teachers participated in the 2026 Pedagogical Animation Days (JAP) of the Zoundwogo province, which opened on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Manga, focusing on the implementation of curriculum reforms in secondary education.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event is held under the theme "Implementation of reforms in secondary education: development of skills through vocational training and scientific and technological education," spanning three days. The aim is to strengthen the professional capacities of teachers and harmonize teaching practices.
The work during the JAP focuses on pedagogical approaches and content related to vocational training, scientific and technological education, and the integration of technologies. In his opening speech, the High Commissioner of Zoundwogo, Julien Oudraogo, stated that the Ministry of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training has initiated a reform project to address the challenges of quality, relevance, and efficiency in the education system.
He highlighted the need for training programs to better adapt to societal needs and national development requirements. This effort aligns with the principles of the Popular Progressive Revolution, emphasizing vocational and technical education and an educational system more closely aligned with the country's needs.
The provincial director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training (DPESFPT) of Zoundwogo, Georgette Nikima, acknowledged the support from educational supervisors, trainers, and the ministry's decentralized and central structures. She noted that the theme is part of reforms aimed at enhancing learners' knowledge and skills and promoting professional integration.
Comrade Nikima encouraged participants to be diligent and available to maximize the benefits of the work, which should also allow them to build on the achievements of the previous session. As in other provinces, these educational animation days are held from September 16 to 18, 2026, in the provincial capitals.
