Pissila: 937 students from the intermediate classes of the high schools and colleges of the commune of Pissila have pledged to embody the republican values they acquired during six weeks of civic and patriotic training. This commitment was made during the closing ceremony of the training program held on Saturday in Pissila. The event was attended by municipal, educational, customary, and religious authorities, along with parents of the students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, a total of 937 students, organized into nine sections, participated in this pilot phase. Over the course of six weeks, they engaged in modules focusing on civic and patriotic values, community living, solidarity, the fight against drugs, and crime prevention. The training also included physical exercises and drill sessions.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, student Marie Sawadogo expressed that the training helped them better understand the meaning of patriotism and republican values. She reaffirmed their commitment to promoting these values among their peers.

Tambi Zouma, the president of the special delegation of Pissila, highlighted that the initiative aims to enhance civic-mindedness, patriotism, and a sense of responsibility among the youth. He commended the dedication of the supervisors, the Defense and Security Forces, as well as the involvement of teachers and students.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of letters of congratulations to the supervisors, heads of institutions, and technical services who contributed to the success of the activities.
