Very early in the morning of Monday, November 1, 2021, the populations of Dambam, a village located about ten km from Markoye (North) were the target of an attack perpetrated by unidentified armed men (HANI).
These populations, with various means of transport, either on foot, by tricycle, or even in animal drawn carts, went to the weekly market in Markoye which is held every Monday to sell their animals and buy something to satisfy the needs of the people. needs of their families.
Ten of these unfortunate people will never reach Markoye because they were murdered by HANIs who also kidnapped four people and carried away animals.
As a reminder, the municipality of Markoye, which is 16 km from the Niger border and around 40 from Gorom-Gorom, capital of Oudalan province, has suffered attacks from armed groups on several occasions.
