Ouagadougou: Burkina Faso and Senegal signed several agreements on Saturday in the areas of trade, defense, diplomacy, economy, and finance during a working session between Burkinabe Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo and his Senegalese counterpart, Ousmane Sonko. The Foreign Ministers of both countries initialed the agreements in Ouagadougou, addressing strategic sectors such as diplomacy, defense, security, economy, trade, culture, and sport.
According to Burkina Information Agency, these agreements were signed during a working and friendship meeting between the Prime Ministers, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation. "This working session is a manifestation of the shared desire of the highest authorities of our two countries to bring this historic cooperation to fruition, because we are convinced that the salvation of our two countries can only come from our unity and our fraternity," declared the head of the Burkinabe executive, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo.
Ou©draogo emphasized the importance of creating a new dynamic to boost the implementation of these agreements and those currently being finalized, by consolidating bonds of solidarity for a secure future. Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko reiterated Senegal's determination to deepen this collaboration, describing it as long-standing, valuable, and based on mutual respect. "We have a solid cooperation, based on mutual respect, but which would benefit from being strengthened and better developed, particularly in the areas of defense, economy, and finance," Sonko stated.
