Ioba: Tigdwédé Joseph Kima was officially installed as head of the Provincial Directorate of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training of Ioba by André Lankoandé, the Secretary General of the province of Ioba. The ceremony took place in Dano, marking a new chapter for the educational leadership in the region.According to Burkina Information Agency, Tigdwédé Joseph Kima, who is an experienced secondary education inspector, was appointed to this prominent role during the Council of Ministers on April 3, 2025. His installation was graced by various administrative authorities, colleagues, relatives, and friends, all present to witness his commitment to advancing education in the province.Kima expressed his dedication to addressing educational challenges with determination. He emphasized that education is vital for nurturing responsible citizens who can contribute to national development. As part of his mandate, he plans to enhance access to secondary education and vocational training, improve tea ching quality by supporting skill development among teachers, and promote professionalization through trade apprenticeships.The new director also aims to foster participatory governance by involving all stakeholders in decision-making processes. Prior to his current appointment, Kima was part of the management team in Réo, Sanguié province. He succeeds Abdoulaye Sawadogo, who has now taken on the role of DPESFPT of Bougouriba after serving in Ioba for over two years.Sawadogo's tenure saw improvements in educational provisions, enrollment, and examination results despite challenges such as teacher shortages, which increased teaching hours. He expressed gratitude for the support received from provincial authorities and education stakeholders.The ceremony also featured congratulatory messages from the DPESFPT staff representative, the dean of the association of directors and heads of services of Ioba, and the regional director of secondary education for the Southwest. They acknowledged the accomplishments of Sawadogo and extended their best wishes to Kima.André Lankoandé, the Secretary General of Ioba Province, assured Kima of the administration's support and commended Sawadogo for his contributions to education in Ioba. Sawadogo was also honored with various gifts from his colleagues as a token of appreciation for his service.
