Sourou: The children of the late Aboubacar Sangoul© Lamizana offer half a ton of rice to IDPs. The children of former president, the late General Aboubacar Sangoul© Lamizana, on Monday in Tougan, offered 20 bags of rice to internally displaced persons in the province to show their solidarity with these vulnerable people.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the children of the former president of Burkina Faso, the late General Aboubacar Sangoul© Lamizana, donated 20 bags of rice weighing 25 kg to internally displaced persons in the province on Monday, May 26, 2025, in Tougan. The donation was presented to the Provincial Director in charge of Humanitarian Action in Sourou, Moumouni Kagamb¨ga, in the presence of the High Commissioner.
Moustapha Lamizana, representing the donors, stated that this donation is symbolic and is part of the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the death of the former president, General Aboubacar Sangoul© Lamizana, who led Upper Volta, now Burkina Faso, from 1966 to 1980 and died on May 26, 2005.
The Provincial Director in charge of Humanitarian Action expressed his satisfaction with the gesture of the former president's family. He indicated that this donation demonstrates the continuity of his work. The High Commissioner of Sourou Province, D©sir© Badolo, thanked the donors and wished eternal rest to the soul of the late General Sangoul© Lamizana. Mr. Badolo also invited all those who can do something in this direction to do so without delay.
