Ambassador Biti© Urges Burkinabe Media to Support National Sovereignty

Beijing: Following an international media seminar held in China, the Ambassador of Burkina Faso, His Excellency Daouda Biti©, urged the Burkinabe participants to use the skills acquired to support the reconquest of territorial integrity.

According to Burkina Information Agency, at the closing ceremony of the International Media Seminar on May 28, 2025, in Beijing, Burkina Faso's Ambassador to the People's Republic of China, His Excellency Daouda Biti©, urged participating Burkinabe media executives to put the skills they had acquired to good use. He particularly called on them to contribute to the restoration of the integrity of the national territory.

The diplomat encouraged the 22 seminarians to put the knowledge they received at the service of the people. "I invite you, once you return home, to put these skills at the service of the nation and to play your part as media in the reconquest of our entire territory and our true independence," he declared.

His Excellency Biti© also reaffirmed his willingness to support journalists in this process, with a view to building an independent and engaged press on the ground. He also encouraged the strengthening of partnerships between Burkinabe media and those of the People's Republic of China.

The ambassador expressed his deep gratitude to the Chinese authorities for their continued commitment to the Burkinabe people. The international seminar, which took place from May 8 to 28, 2025, in Beijing, brought together 22 public and private media executives from Burkina Faso. They benefited from an immersion in several companies specializing in information and communication technologies.

Participants completed modules on a variety of topics, ranging from video editing techniques and applications to turnkey studio solutions and news gathering and writing in the age of digital convergence.
