Kourittenga Achieves 81.86% Success Rate in Literacy Certification Assessment

Kourittenga: The province of Kourittenga, which consists of eleven Basic Education Districts (CEB), has achieved a success rate of 81.86% in the 2025 non-formal education certification assessment. The results of this assessment were deliberated in Koup©la on May 26 and 28, 2025.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the non-formal education certification assessment exam was conducted on May 19, 2025, across 53 centers in Kourittenga province. Out of 2,502 registered candidates, including 1,756 women and 746 men, a total of 2,238 candidates participated in the assessment. This group included 1,618 women and 620 men, while 264 candidates were absent, consisting of 138 women and 126 men.

Candidates needed a minimum of 40 points out of 80 to pass. In total, 1,832 candidates were admitted in Kourittenga, including 1,266 women and 566 men, leading to the notable success rate of 81.86%. The session was marked by a significant female predominance, with 1,266 out of 1,618 women being admitted, translating to a success rate of 78.24%, highlighting women's strong involvement in the promotion of national languages.

Dieudonn© Kyelem, Inspector of Primary Education and Non-Formal Education, and Head of the Non-Formal Education and Promotion of National Languages Department in Kourittenga, emphasized the importance of local languages as foundational to sovereignty. He commended the efforts of all stakeholders who contributed to the success of this year's non-formal education session in Kourittenga.
