Ouagadougou: Winner of the Super Galian of the Nuit des Galian, Liradan Philippe Ada, journalist at RTB T©l©, delivered a poignant testimony, emphasizing the collective nature of his victory and paying tribute to the fighting forces, heroes of the country.
According to Burkina Information Agency, with a remarkable average of 17.2/20, Ada left with a trophy, a certificate, a sum of 3 million FCFA, as well as a villa worth an estimated 18 million FCFA offered by the Kastor Africa group, and an insurance voucher from Sunu Assurances.
In his speech, Liradan Philippe Ada dedicated his consecration "to the fighting forces who fight and sacrifice themselves so that our country remains standing", as well as to the victims who fell during military operations. Philippe Ada won this prestigious award thanks to two major reports produced at the heart of military operations.
This includes the major report: "Grand Ouest, the decisive turning point", recounting a large-scale operation which enabled the reconquest of several villages and the resettlement of displaced populations. Another major report "The Supply of Eastern Cities" saw him survive an ambush during a high-risk mission as a journalist.
"A day at the front changes your outlook on life. You become aware of the soldiers' sacrifices. This award is the result of their bravery and warm welcome in the field," said the winner, praising the work of the commanders of the Rapid Intervention Battalions (BIR) and Captain Watao of BIR7. He also expressed his gratitude to his wife for her unwavering support despite the stress of reporting in the field, and to his colleagues at RTB T©l©, whom he considers a second family.
Mr. Ada gave thanks to God and expressed his deep gratitude because he considers the Lord his protector. "If I am here before you today, alive, it is thanks to Him."
A total of 25 official prizes and more than 24 special prizes were awarded during this 28th Nuit des Galian, with Sidwaya and RTB publishing houses taking the lion's share.
