Gnagna Education Board Reports Positive Outcomes for 2024-2025 Academic Year

Gnagna: The 3rd ordinary session of the Board of Directors draws up a satisfactory assessment of the 2024-2025 school year. The Provincial Directorate of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education of Gnagna held its third ordinary session of the Board of Directors on Friday, June 27, 2025, in Bogand©. This session provided an opportunity to take stock of the activities carried out, evaluate school performance, and outline prospects for the upcoming school year.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the work was mainly devoted to the analysis of the balance sheet of the activity programs of the different services, to the evaluation of the harmonized examinations in the formal and non-formal orders, as well as to the presentation of the results of the certification assessment and the examination of the Primary School Certificate (CEP), 2025 session.

At the end of the 2025 CEP session, the Gnagna province recorded an overall success rate of 93.64%, marking a notable increase of nearly six points compared to the previous year. In the certification assessment, Gnagna achieved a success rate of 86.59%. These results, considered highly satisfactory, reflect the combined efforts of all education stakeholders, in a continuing difficult security context.

According to the heads of Basic Education Districts and the heads of internal services of the DPEPPNF, there is a good implementation of the activity programs. The evaluations of the harmonized examinations in the formal and informal orders were also held with satisfactory results.

The provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education in Gnagna, Sylvain Thiombiano, praised the commitment of educational teams and partners for these encouraging results. He announced that a recognition day will be organized at the start of the next school year, in October 2025, to honor the most deserving students, teachers, organizations, and partners.

Regarding Income Generating Activities (IGAs), the report reveals collection difficulties, due in particular to the massive displacement of populations to other localities, in a context marked by insecurity. Mr. Thiombiano instructed the heads of the Basic Education Districts concerned to work actively to resolve these difficulties, with a view to an effective restart at the start of the next school year.

The statutory members of the DPEPPNF Gnagna Board of Directors have agreed to pursue excellence in promoting education in the province of Gnagna.
