Bilateral Cooperation: Burkina Faso and the Arab Republic of Egypt Celebrate the 73rd Anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution

Ouagadougou: The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Burkina Faso celebrated the Egyptian National Day on the evening of Friday, July 11, 2025. Several Burkinabe officials attended, including the Director of Cabinet of the Burkinabe Head of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dieudonn© D©sir© Sougouri. The Revolution of July 23, 1952, led by Colonel Gamal Abdel Nasser, was commemorated on Friday, July 11, 2025, in Ouagadougou, in communion and with fervor in honor of the nation and the Egyptian people.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event highlighted the importance of this anniversary, honoring the struggles and sacrifices of past generations that enabled the Egyptian nation to assert its sovereignty and preserve its interests. The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sheriff Abdelkader Nada, welcomed the presence of his guests and emphasized the cooperation between Burkina Faso and Egypt. He praised the fruitful collaboration in the security sector and other development areas in Burkina Faso.

Sheriff Abdelkader Nada expressed gratitude to Burkina Faso for its support of Egypt's leadership on the international scene, particularly its support for Egypt's candidacy for UNESCO membership. Ambassador Dieudonn© D©sir© Sougouri, delivering the speech of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, conveyed the government's greetings to the Egyptian people on this commemoration of the Egyptian Revolution. He noted the sovereignist vision shared by the Burkinabe and Egyptian peoples, symbolized by Burkina Faso's presence at the celebration.

The Director of Cabinet praised the cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing its strength and benefits for both peoples. He highlighted areas of cooperation, such as defense and security, education, health, vocational training, and capacity building for Defense and Security Forces. The Director of Cabinet also noted the impact of the Head of Burkinabe diplomacy's visit to Cairo in 2024, which expanded cooperation to include the pharmaceutical industry and transport. He concluded by congratulating Ambassador Sheriff Abdelkader Nada, who announced the end of his mission in Burkina Faso.
