Djibo: A consultation framework was held this Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in the meeting room of the Djibo town hall, under the chairmanship of Mr. Wend-n©r© Wilfried TOUGMA, High Commissioner of the province of Soum. This meeting brought together the local administration, community representatives, as well as NGOs and development associations.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the main focus of the meeting was the need to strengthen the coordination of interventions, emphasizing better synergy between the administration and civil society organizations, including NGOs and development associations. The participants discussed security challenges, assessing the current situation and recognizing the need to adapt interventions to the context.
The discussions further concentrated on community needs, identifying priority sectors, and reflecting on effective resource mobilization. Participants agreed on the necessity of holding regular meetings, and a schedule for periodic consultations will be developed to ensure ongoing dialogue among stakeholders in local development.
Finally, in terms of advocacy and recognition, the High Commissioner urged partners to implement structuring projects for the province. He presented certificates of recognition to organizations significantly impacting the people of Soum, specifically the Provincial Coordination of Women's Organizations (CPOF) and the Rural Community Support Structure (SERACOM).
