Poni: The Cultural and Tourism Development Fund (FDCT), through its Hauts-Bassins regional branch, is organizing a training session for cultural and tourism promoters in Gaoua from July 21 to 23, 2025. The objective is to strengthen their capacities in order to facilitate their access to financing through calls for projects.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the training is led by Issa Barry, regional branch manager of the Hauts-Bassins FDCT, and gathers stakeholders from the four provinces of the Dj´r´ region. Over three days, participants will be equipped with financing mechanisms, mastering application frameworks, and best practices for developing cultural and tourism projects.
The session is held at the Southwest Regional Directorate of Culture, Arts, and Tourism, a partner organization in organizing the event. Participants come from both the nonprofit sector and private entrepreneurs.
According to Barry Issa, this initiative aims to address the shortcomings identified in previous calls for projects. The program includes an institutional presentation of the FDCT, a session on available financing tools, practical writing exercises, as well as experience sharing and field visits.
By focusing on local training, the FDCT hopes to increase the number of projects led by local stakeholders and thus strengthen the impact of cultural funding at the regional level.
