Manga: The chief of staff of the President of Faso, Captain Martha C©leste Anderson Dekomwin Medah, expressed his dissatisfaction with the slow progress of the construction of a 500-seat amphitheater at the Manga University Center. During a visit to the site, he urged the construction company “EURO Burkina” to demonstrate greater commitment to the project.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the managers of EURO Burkina reported that the construction is only 20% complete, despite having consumed 70% of the allocated time. They attributed the delays to challenges such as the nature of the soil and procedural issues that delayed the project’s start.
Captain Anderson Medah, however, found these explanations inadequate to justify the slow pace of work. He emphasized the need for introspection and corrective measures, criticizing the company for operating with a limited workforce of just 40 permanent workers and a lack of facilities like lighting for continuous work.
He highlighted the frustration with the project’s lagging progress and urged all parties involved to take a vested interest in the amphitheater construction, emphasizing its significance for the Nazinon region and Burkina Faso as a whole. He insisted on adhering to the contractual deadlines and called for swift corrections to the noted shortcomings in the project’s execution.
Additionally, Captain Anderson Medah announced plans to bolster the control system to ensure that all commitments made on site are honored. The amphitheater, part of the Presidential Initiative for Quality Education for All (IPEQ), is expected to include offices, staff rooms, and toilet blocks, and aims to enhance university infrastructure over five years, constructing 40 complexes across Burkina Faso.
