Tannounyan: The PLURIELLES Project Reviews Progress of Annual Work Plan 4

Nairobi: The PLURIELLES project organized in Banfora, July 31, 2025, an exchange session with the Regional Monitoring Committee (CSR) to take stock of the implementation of the Annual Work Plan 4 (PTA4) and formulate recommendations with a view to achieving the fifth year objectives.According to Burkina Information Agency, the project, funded by Global Affairs Canada and led by a consortium including Santé Monde, Lawyers Without Borders Canada, and the International Development Cooperation Corporation, has been focused on strengthening sexual and reproductive health and rights in Benin, Burkina Faso's Tannounyan region, and Mali over the past five years. The project employs an integrated and holistic approach to improve health rights, especially for women and adolescent girls in vulnerable situations.The project director outlined plans to support 50 women's cooperatives through the provision of inputs and production equipment. The project also involves the construction of 22 health centers, primarily mat ernity wards and clinics, and three modern incinerators for biomedical waste management at the Banfora CHR, CMI, and the Sindou Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA).Training and professional integration for young people are also a focus of the project. In the fourth year, 37 young lawyers were trained, and 15 were placed in internships. Many of these interns have successfully secured employment following their internships.The Project Director called on regional authorities, decentralized services, and partners to enhance their collaboration for improved project outcomes. Toussaint Meda, Secretary General of the Tannouyan Region, representing the Governor, expressed appreciation for the PLURIELLES Project's efforts, particularly in supporting women and youth, and reaffirmed the regional authorities' commitment to the project.
