Hounde: The Hounde Citizen Watch organized a sanitation operation at the Hounde Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA) on Saturday, October 4, 2025. The activity is part of the 2nd phase of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) 2025. It was held in the presence of the Secretary General of the Tuy Province, Dieudonne Zeida, and the President of the Hounde Special Municipal Delegation, Souleymane Dianda.
According to Burkina Information Agency, members of the civic watch mobilized the city's residents to demonstrate their patriotic commitment by cleaning up the CMA. The grass around the buildings was cut, trash cans were emptied, and the environment was cleaned to create a more welcoming setting for patients, caregivers, and healthcare staff.
The secretary general of the municipal citizen watch, Amadou Waigalo, stated that this activity is part of the dynamics of the second phase of the JEPPC. He explained that through this civic action, residents of Hounde were called upon to express their patriotism through concrete actions. Waigalo emphasized the link between health and cleanliness, highlighting the importance of cleaning up the medical center to establish healthier conditions for patients. He extended gratitude to the participants, especially women's associations and community leaders, for their strong mobilization.
The Secretary General of Tuy Province, Dieudonne Zeida, noted that the activity aligns with actions planned during the JEPPC, occurring from October 2 to 16. He remarked, "This is an activity that calls us to patriotic commitment, because no one will come to clean up our country for us." Zeida added that the operation reflects citizen participation in maintaining a clean living environment and encouraged the population to support initiatives for the country's development.
Dr. Marie Jaures Ramde, Chief Medical Officer of the Health District (MCD), expressed gratitude to the initiators, stating, "This sanitation day proves that health is not just the responsibility of health workers." He also noted that the operation would contribute to improving the quality of care.
In conclusion, the special municipal delegation of Hounde provided two garbage bins to the CMA for improved waste management.
