Hounde: The pedagogical days for secondary school teachers in the province of Tuy concluded with a focus on educational reforms, particularly in the area of Competency-Based Approach / Integration Pedagogy (APC/PI). More than 500 high school and middle school teachers participated in the event, which concluded on October 17, 2025.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the training, which spanned from October 14 to 17, 2025, included teachers of various disciplines such as philosophy, French, history-geography, and English. They were introduced to new teaching methods centered on the APC/PI. Prior to this, from October 7 to 10, 2025, teachers of mathematics, physical sciences, life and earth sciences, physical education and sports, and German received similar training.
The training sessions were organized through plenary presentations and workshops that focused on assessing learning in line with APC/PI. Several key topics were addressed, including the establishment of multi-purpose educational institutions, the introduction of vocational training, the formation of school councils, and civic education.
Seydou Traore, the provincial director of secondary education and vocational and technical training of Tuy, presided over the closing ceremony. Traore emphasized the importance of adopting the new educational vision promoted by the ministry. He highlighted the role of teachers in respecting public resources and instilling this value in students.
Traore also encouraged teachers to set aside religious, union, or ethnic differences to foster unity within the teaching community. He stressed the importance of cohesion among colleagues and urged teachers to support the implementation of the government’s vocational training reform. Building strong relationships with students and local communities was also emphasized as a priority.
Finally, Traore encouraged the teachers to take ownership of the knowledge gained during the training sessions and to effectively apply it in their teaching practices.
