Guiriko Ministry Launches Training to Enhance Social Workers’ Justice Skills

Guiriko: The Ministry of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, through the Technical Secretariat for the Promotion of Peace and Living Together (ST/PPViE), has initiated a series of skill-building training sessions for social workers focusing on various forms of justice.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative commenced on Monday, October 27, 2025, and is set to span three days, concluding on October 29, 2025. The participants will delve into classical, traditional, and transitional justice systems, which are seen as complementary frameworks in fostering social cohesion and communal harmony.

Djeneba Ou©draogo, the Minister's technical advisor, stated that the primary aim of this program is to empower stakeholders at both central and decentralized levels to engage fully in the promotion of social cohesion. "It's about strengthening the capacities of our various services in terms of forms of justice, in order to promote endogenous solutions to the resolution of our conflicts," she elaborated.

Ms. Ou©draogo further highlighted the significance of promoting traditional justice, which is represented by customary chiefs, religious leaders, and sector delegates. She emphasized the need for this justice system to coexist alongside the modern justice system that has been shaped since the colonial era and solidified post-independence.

In her address to the participants, the technical advisor encouraged active engagement, urging them to ask pertinent questions and disseminate the acquired knowledge within their communities. "We must move together towards conciliation, social cohesion and living together," she asserted.
