Ouagadougou: Former South African President Jacob Zuma has called for Africa to reclaim its wealth from the hands of colonizers, emphasizing the importance of the continent taking control of its own destiny. Zuma made these remarks during an engagement with President Ibrahim Traore in Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Zuma highlighted the need for Africans to assume full responsibility for their future. He commended the revolutionary and sovereignist initiatives undertaken by President Traore over the past three years, viewing them as a positive model for the continent.
Zuma expressed admiration for Burkina Faso’s approach and expressed a desire to collaborate with President Traore to further the cause of African liberation. He encouraged unity among Africans and the diaspora to support the ongoing efforts in Burkina Faso.
The former president, along with 700 other Afro-descendants and members of the diaspora, is visiting Burkina Faso to explore the legacy of Captain Thomas Sankara and support the initiatives revived by Captain Ibrahim Traore.
