Koosin Pays Tribute to Victims of Terrorism in Solemn Ceremony


Nouna: The High Commissioner of the province of Koosin, Noufo Dembele, led a heartfelt tribute ceremony on Sunday, November 2, 2025, to honor the victims of terrorism. The event took place within the compound of the 53rd Commando Infantry Regiment (RIC) and was attended by the province’s key figures and community members.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony began with a review of the troops, after which Captain N’goua Prince, the commander of the 53rd RIC, highlighted the tribute as a continuation of the 65th anniversary celebrations of the National Armed Forces. Captain Prince emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices of the martyrs, ensuring their efforts were not in vain. He reflected on the inevitability of death and the need to live meaningful lives that warrant remembrance.



High Commissioner Noufo Dembele conveyed the nation’s gratitude to the fallen heroes who fought valiantly. Speaking on behalf of the country’s highest authorities, he emphasized the importance of prayer and unity to maintain the strength needed for eventual victory. Mr. Dembele also extended condolences to the families and comrades of the deceased, wishing eternal peace for all members of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), and civilians who lost their lives.



The ceremony concluded with a minute of silence observed in honor of the fallen, followed by a wreath-laying at the foot of a commemorative stele.
