The Secretary General of the Goulmou region, Siaka Ouattara, presided over the traditional raising of the national flag for the month at the regional delegation of the High Council for Communication (CSC) in Goulmou. According to Burkina Information Agency, the event took place in the presence of the constituted bodies at the High Council of Communication (CSC) of Goulmou. Siaka Ouattara expressed his gratitude to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety of the population.
Ouattara emphasized the importance of supporting the fighting forces, stating, "Alone, these fighting forces cannot do anything. We need our support." He also urged rural communities to actively collaborate with FDS and VDP to achieve results that will allow residents to freely engage in their daily activities for the development of the locality.
According to Siaka Ouattara, the traditional raising of the national colors is an opportunity to strengthen ties between various actors involved in local development. Boureima Cyrille Ouoba, the regional delegate of the CSC of Goulmou, highlighted the significance of the event in promoting the CSC's mission and enhancing media regulation across several administrative entities, including Tapoa, Sirba, Goulmou, and Nakambe.
Mr. Ouoba noted that the region is home to 35 media outlets, including 19 in the East, comprising 15 radio stations, one television station, and three online media outlets. The CSC has implemented a technological system, HMS, for continuous monitoring of broadcast content. Ouoba stated that the CSC is dedicated to reinforcing the media's role in reclaiming territory and promoting peace and social cohesion.
Regarding social media, regulation has been tightened, granting the CSC authority to punish those committing offenses, moving beyond merely offering advice as in the past.
