Bobo-dioulasso: The president of the National Commission of the Confederation of Sahel States (CES), Bassolma Bazie, held a regional information and awareness conference in Fada N'Gourma, addressing administrative, military, paramilitary authorities, and the vital forces of Goulmou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the key stakeholders of the Goulmou region gathered to discuss the challenges facing the confederation. The meeting aimed to foster closer ties between the commission and the local populations, elucidating decisions made by the heads of state regarding the development of the Confederation of Sahel States, established on July 6, 2024, in Niamey.

The founding texts of the Sahel Alliance stipulate the creation of a national commission in each member state, tasked with implementing decisions, proposing strengthening actions, and developing a program of activities. Mr. Bazie emphasized the commission's role in conducting studies and formulating proposals to advance towards a confederation.

The conference sought to clarify the CES's objectives and garner public support to propel this regional initiative forward for the common good. Mr. Bazie highlighted Burkina Faso's efforts to reclaim its sovereignty, stressing the need for unity, commitment, determination, discipline, and patriotism.

Abdoulaye Zalle, the administrator of high schools and colleges, praised the discussions, particularly appreciating the historical perspective provided by Mr. Bazie. The meeting concluded in an atmosphere of support and exchange, reflecting the populations' interest in the consolidation of the Confederation of Sahel States.
