Mouhoun: The principal of Dampan General Education College (CEG) in Bondokuy district, Awa Kondombo, led the inaugural flag-raising ceremony at the school on Thursday, November 6, 2025. She called upon students to embody civic responsibility in their everyday activities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony began at 6:50 a.m. with students and supervisors assembling in the college courtyard for the event, which was presided over by Ms. Kondombo. The occasion was characterized by a solemn atmosphere and a deep respect for national symbols.
As the national anthem of Burkina Faso, "Le Ditanye," echoed through the courtyard, students joined in chorus, proudly proclaiming the national motto: "Homeland or Death, we will conquer." Ms. Kondombo took this opportunity to encourage students to practice civic responsibility in their daily lives.
She reminded the students that being a citizen involves partnering with their country and highlighted that each flag-raising should symbolize dedication to the nation, alongside discipline and respect for republican values. She urged students to view the weekly ritual as a time for unity, commitment, and reflection on their role in building a strong and prosperous Burkina Faso.
The next flag-raising ceremony is slated for Monday, November 10, 2025, with the same focus on civic responsibility, aligning with the guidelines set by the ministry responsible for Secondary Education.
