Burkinabe Government Authorizes Recruitment of 100 IT Engineers to Bolster Digital Sovereignty

Ouagadougou: The Burkinabe government has authorized, in the Council of Ministers, the recruitment by direct competition without training of 100 computer engineers for the year 2025. The recruitment involves 50 design engineers and 50 IT project engineers. It is part of the establishment of an elite strategic intelligence unit specializing in data analysis and cybersecurity.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative reflects Burkina Faso's ambition to guarantee its sovereignty in cyberspace through the creation of a body of highly qualified national experts. Successful candidates will be directly integrated into the Civil Service. They will benefit from nine months of capacity building in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, as well as three months of military training.

The Council has therefore given its approval for the effective launch of this strategic recruitment.
