Gourma: The High Commissioner of the Gourma province, Silas Nacanabo, called on provincial directors and department heads to cultivate excellence within their structures during a ceremony at the Provincial Directorate of Infrastructure and Rural Development (DPID). This appeal was made in the context of a solemn flag-raising event that took place on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony gathered numerous officials from decentralized state services, public agents, and members of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS). In his address, High Commissioner Nacanabo emphasized the symbolic importance of the national flag and anthem, stating their significance to the country and the nation.

The High Commissioner encouraged public services to prioritize this civic ritual, underscoring its role in representing the presence of the State in every structure. He highlighted how such moments allow managers and staff to converse about challenges and reinforce administrative cohesion.

Despite the challenging context, Nacanabo acknowledged the staff's efforts, commending the uninterrupted public service in the province. He noted that the absence of complaints from users reflects the staff's commitment.

Nacanabo urged officials to recognize exemplary agents by awarding them good grades, letters of congratulations, and proposing them for honorary distinctions. He also commended the FDS and the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP) for their pivotal role in ensuring security and reclaiming the territory.

Provincial director of Infrastructure and Development, Abdramane Ouedraogo, expressed appreciation for the ceremony being hosted at his structure. He announced plans, in coordination with the regional directorate, to begin paving the Gounghin-Fada axis following UEMOA standards and sought the support of all stakeholders for the project's success.
