Ouagadougou: The President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, addressed the Afro-descendant community during an event titled "Welcome Home," emphasizing the broader fight for Africa and the dignity of Black people. He conveyed that the awakening of Africa is feared by some, but it is inevitable.

According to Burkina Information Agency, President Traore met with Afro-descendants in Ouagadougou and received their support and commitment to invest and settle in Burkina Faso. He announced the removal of the financial requirement for the permanent resident card for these "700 Ambassadors of Burkina Faso." The President highlighted Burkina Faso's resilience and its role in the enduring struggle for the liberation and dignity of Black people across Africa.

President Traore reiterated his call for people of African descent and supporters of peace and prosperity to oppose imperialism. He noted the historical resilience of Africans and encouraged investment in sectors that would benefit both the new settlers and the local population.

Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao, representing the Afro-descendant community, praised President Traore for his visionary leadership and his invitation to the African diaspora to reconnect with their roots. Nearly 700 people of African descent from various parts of the world have been in Burkina Faso since late October to explore opportunities and strengthen ties with the country.
