Manga: The Center for Democratic Governance (CGD) organized a capacity-building workshop for citizen watchdog organizations in Nazinon from November 7 to 8, 2025. The workshop focused on “Civic responsibility in the digital age: acting together against online disinformation and manipulation.”
According to Burkina Information Agency, the training was provided by the Central Brigade for Combating Cybercrime (BCLCC) with the aim of promoting responsible digital citizenship. The initiative emphasized awareness, citizen monitoring, and the fight against disinformation.
The workshop enabled participants to enhance their knowledge about the rights and duties of digital citizens, highlighting the importance of ethical and responsible behavior on online platforms. Participants also gained a deeper understanding of the mechanisms and impacts of disinformation on social cohesion, peace, and national stability.
Information verification tools and techniques were shared with participants to better equip them in combating manipulation and fake news. This meeting in Manga was part of the National Week Against Cybercrime (SNLC), aiming to mobilize citizen watch organizations towards digital empowerment and vigilance. The collective effort seeks to create a citizen bulwark against disinformation, hate speech, and online manipulation.
