Bougouriba: The educational community of the General Education College (CEG) of Tioyo proceeded, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, to the installation of the executive office of its first School Council, in accordance with the decree of July 16, 2025 setting the rules for the creation and operation of this participatory body.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was held in a classroom of the school, in the presence of parents, teaching and administrative staff, student representatives, as well as religious and customary delegations. Before the opening of the ballot, the director of the CEG of Tioyo, Mr. Alidou Lengane, recalled the main provisions of the decree, in particular those relating to the creation, principles, missions, and composition of the executive office of the School Council.
He also highlighted the key points of the interministerial decree no. 2025-0161/MEBAPLN/MESFPT/MATM of October 30, 2025, adopting the Internal Regulations and Code of Conduct of the School Council. He explained that these documents aim to strengthen the understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each stakeholder, ensuring the smooth functioning of the Council's bodies.
To ensure the transparency of the process, an ad hoc committee, composed of three members representing parents, staff, and religious leaders, was set up to conduct the elections. At the conclusion of the proceedings, an executive committee of thirteen members, including three women, was elected for a three-year term. The Council will be chaired by Mr. Yacouba Kambire, who was elected to head this body.
Visibly moved by the trust placed in him, Mr. Kambire expressed his gratitude to the entire educational community for their choice. 'I am honored by the mission entrusted to me. We are aware of the challenges that await us, including the transparent management of school assets, student discipline, and the improvement of the working environment,' he said.
The new president also called for unity and commitment from everyone to promote the success of the CEG of Tioyo: "I urge the teaching staff to give their best for the success of our students. I also call upon the entire educational community, including parents, for open and active support. It is together that we will be able to meet the challenges facing our school."
Barely installed, the new office has already scheduled two meetings on its agenda. The first meeting of the executive board is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, while the first ordinary general assembly will be held on November 29. According to President Kambire, these meetings will allow us to "lay the first foundations of a dynamic and fully committed Council serving the school and its stakeholders."
