Student Fatality Leads to Minibus Fire After Accident in Kombissiri

Kombissiri: A traffic accident involving a minibus resulted in the death of a young student and the subsequent burning of the vehicle in Goanghin, located on the Ouagadougou-Po road. The incident occurred on the evening of Tuesday, November 11, 2025, and was reported by AIB.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the accident happened around 5 p.m., soon after the school day ended. A 7-year-old first-grade student was struck by a minibus, known locally as a "Dina," while attempting to cross the road on her way home.

In response to the accident, officers from the Kombissiri central police station arrived to carry out the usual investigation. Angered by the incident, local residents set the minibus on fire shortly thereafter.

Upon receiving news of the situation, Chief Commissioner Saidou Ouoba, the provincial director of the national police in Bazega, along with Boureima Kouss, the central commissioner of Kombissiri, and other police officers, went to the site. Claude Oudraogo, the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education for Bazega, also visited the scene.

Around 8:30 p.m., firefighters from Ouagadougou managed to extinguish the flames that had completely engulfed the minibus.
