Boulgou: The Sunni community of Nakambe handed over, on Saturday morning, a batch of equipment worth approximately 1.5 million CFA francs to the presidential initiative Faso Mebo through its brigade based in Tenkodogo. 'We came to participate in the paving work and to deliver this donation consisting of 5 tons of cement, 10 bins of sand, 5 wheelbarrows, 12 shovels, 24 vests and 24 pairs of gloves. The value is estimated at 1.5 million CFA francs,' said the president of the regional office of the Sunni community, Abdoul Rachid Kouraogo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Kouraogo specified that this gesture was the result of an internal mobilization conducted in conjunction with a delegation from Ouagadougou, including the special guest of the day, Cheikh Oumar Sankara. 'We have mobilized our members throughout the region so that everyone can contribute what they can. Development begins in our region and we must support the work of the brigade,' the president stated.
Mr. Kouraogo appealed to all sister associations and citizens of Nakambe to continue their efforts. "Donations are one thing, but physical participation in the work is another. We invite everyone to come and work to speed up the construction," he concluded.
The handover took place at the Faso Mebo brigade headquarters in the presence of the president of the special delegation of the Tenkodogo commune, Sami Berenger Pooda. He indicated that the Sunni community's gesture is part of a dynamic of active participation in the collective effort for local development.
Local officials welcomed the gesture, which is in line with the national call for mobilization launched by the highest authorities in the country. 'We welcomed this donation with gratitude. It reflects the constant commitment of the various components of the population to the call for mobilization launched by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore,' said Mr. Pooda.
The handover of equipment to the Faso Mebo brigade marks a new stage in community participation in local projects.
