FIFA Window: Landry Kabore Leads Burkina Faso to a 3-2 Victory Over Niger


Burkina faso: Burkina Faso’s Stallions striker Paul Landry Kabore scored a hat trick on Friday night in Casablanca, Morocco, against Niger’s Mena, securing a 3-2 victory for his team in the international friendly match between the two teams, which counted towards the FIFA international matchday. It was Niger’s Mena who opened the scoring through Ousseni Soumaila in the 25th minute. The Burkinabe striker, playing for Heart of Midlothian FC in Scotland, equalized in the 35th minute and then doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time at the 45th+2 minute mark.



According to Burkina Information Agency, in the second half, Niger equalized through a Daniel Sosah penalty in the 55th minute before Burkina Faso’s left-footed striker Landry Kabore completed his hat trick in the 58th minute, securing the victory for Burkina Faso. This is not the first time the former Salitas FC player has scored a hat trick for the national team. Against Ethiopia in a World Cup qualifier at the Stade du 4 Aout, he also scored three goals, helping the Stallions to a 3-1 win.



Brama Traore’s team will play a second friendly match in Morocco, this time against the Panthers of Benin on November 18th. The Burkinabe team is preparing for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, which will take place from December 21st, 2025 to January 18th, 2026.
