Ouagadougou: In a show of solidarity and patriotism, the National Federation of Taxi Drivers' Unions and Urban Transport Actors of Burkina Faso (FNST/ATU-B) donated 5 tons of cement to the presidential initiative Faso Mebo. The donation was made on Tuesday as part of the 72-hour commemoration dedicated to the taxi driver profession, aiming to bolster the development efforts led by the Burkinabe government.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the taxi drivers responded to a call from the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, by assembling at the Faso Mebo site. There, they not only handed over the cement but also actively participated in the sorting and manufacturing of paving stones alongside the Faso Mebo workers, demonstrating their commitment to national development.
Emmanuel Nacoulma, the federation's president, emphasized that the donation resulted from the collective contributions of all members. "We heard the call from the head of state and we followed our hearts," Nacoulma stated. He further expressed the importance of supporting the Faso Mebo initiative, describing it as noble and inviting all Burkinabe citizens to contribute to the cause.
The FNST/ATU-B also announced plans for the next 72-hour activities, which are scheduled to take place in December in Bobo-Dioulasso, continuing their commitment to national development and solidarity efforts.
