Ouagadougou: The Youth Council for the Development of the Sahel (CJDS) dedicated its 'Weekend at Faso Mebo' to the paving work on the arteries of the 10th district of Ouagadougou, thus making its civic contribution to the presidential initiative Faso Mebo.

According to Burkina Information Agency, armed with shovels, cement mixers, gloves, and various tools, the young members of the CJDS (Youth Council for Social Development) took to the streets of the area on Saturday, alongside the workers mobilized daily on the construction site. For the president of the CJDS, Ismael Sawadogo, this voluntary involvement reflects his organization's full and complete support for the vision of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore.

'This civic action aims to demonstrate our love for the homeland. We are happy that Faso Mebo is being deployed in our district. Through this act, we express our full support for this initiative of our leader, Captain Ibrahim Traore,' said Mr. Sawadogo.

According to him, the Faso Mebo project, in addition to enhancing the aesthetics of Burkina Faso's cities, helps reduce unsanitary conditions and diseases linked to an unhealthy environment, particularly malaria and dengue fever. He believes that the regular paving and maintenance of roads will lead to a lasting improvement in the living conditions of the population.

The president of the CJDS also commended the commitment of the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the 10th arrondissement, whose leadership facilitated the rapid deployment of the program in the area. He urged other youth associations and organizations to follow the CJDS's example in order to "make our cities clean, safe, and pleasant spaces."

The CJDS plans to continue its civic actions in the coming weeks, particularly through awareness campaigns on hygiene, community discipline and participation in local development.
