ICRC Provides Poultry to Fifty Households in Kompienga to Boost Financial Independence

Kompienga: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) distributed poultry and poultry feed to about fifty vulnerable households in Pama, including both host and internally displaced families, aiming to strengthen their financial autonomy.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative is part of ICRC's humanitarian mission to support individuals affected by armed conflict and violence. The distribution took place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, and focused on enhancing food security for these households.

Thierry Onadja, president of the Kompienga provincial committee of the Red Cross, stated that the activity is designed to empower the beneficiary households financially, particularly as economic activities in the region have been slowing down.

A recipient of the aid, Bandiba Koadima from sector 2 of Pama, expressed appreciation, noting that the poultry and feed provided are rare commodities in the area. She plans to boost her production to meet her needs more effectively.

Koadima also advocated for increasing the number of households benefiting from future distributions and extended her gratitude to the Red Cross. Beneficiaries were urged to utilize the donation effectively to enhance their income-generating activities.
