Burkinabe Community Sets Exemplary Standard in Qatar

Doha: Burkinabe living in Qatar are shining examples of exemplary conduct and dedication to work, earning admiration from the local population, as observed by AIB on site.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Burkinabe community has built a reputation in Qatar for their positive contributions and integrity, which has bolstered diplomatic relations between Burkina Faso and Qatar. Aboubacar Younga, the representative of the wise people of the Burkinabe community in Qatar, affirmed that the exemplary behavior of Burkinabe predecessors has paved the way for the presence of a diplomatic representation and an embassy in Qatar. "We always remind Burkinabe people here that they must always demonstrate integrity to proudly represent their country," Younga stated.

Amidou Coulibaly, the acting charge d'affaires of the Burkina Faso embassy in Qatar, highlighted the trust Qataris place in Burkinabe citizens, which has led some organizations to recommend Burkinabe individuals for employment. This trust was evident when it facilitated the release of a young supporter detained by Doha police last Tuesday.

The Burkinabe community in Qatar maintains strong connections among its members, ensuring they do not lose touch with each other or their homeland. Aboubacar Younga explained that every Burkinabe who leaves for Qatar aims to improve their life and contribute positively back to Burkina Faso. "We create opportunities for Burkinabe people in Qatar to get involved and seek partners to invest in Burkina Faso. We live in a community, we miss the country, but meeting each other creates a family," Younga added.

In addition to maintaining close ties, Burkinabe citizens in Qatar actively support their home country. They receive daily updates from Burkina Faso and have previously contributed to the Patriotic Support Fund. Younga confirmed that these efforts continue, with funds collected during community gatherings and initiatives to support Burkina Faso's security forces. "We are organized so that at the end of each year we have funds to give to the security forces. We also raise awareness on social media to support the motherland because we are all ambassadors for Burkina Faso and we represent Burkina Faso well here," Younga elaborated.
