Ouagadougou: The Council of Ministers has adopted a decree establishing the Education and Research Support Fund (FOSER), named 'Bangr baoobo', which translates to 'Research of knowledge' in the Moore language.
According to Burkina Information Agency, FOSER was formed from the merger of the Vocational Training and Apprenticeship Support Fund (FAFPA), the National Fund for Education and Research (FONER), and the National Fund for Research and Innovation for Development (FONRID). This reform aligns with the Government's aim to consolidate structures with overlapping missions into a more coherent and efficient system, addressing issues of governance and resource management.
FOSER's mission is to support the implementation of national policy on training, research, and innovation by providing a unified and secure funding framework.
