Boulkiemde: The president of the special delegation (PDS) of Sabou, Abdul Aziz Koara, presented the main achievements of his three years of management during an accountability day under the theme: 'Emergence of the commune of Sabou: what resource mobilization strategies for endogenous development?'. The activity took place in the presence of the administrative, customary, and religious authorities of the municipality, aiming to strengthen the transparency of public action.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Abdul Aziz Koara highlighted the significant developments achieved over the past three years. "During these three years, we have built health infrastructure, constructed classrooms, erected shops in the central market, and provided support to internally displaced persons (IDPs)," he stated. However, he also noted the challenges faced, mentioning that the municipal budget decreased from approximately 300 million CFA francs in 2022 to 200 million in 2023, with a further decline expected in 2024.
Looking ahead, the special delegation plans several initiatives, including the construction of a bus station, continued work on the central market, inauguration of a primary healthcare center (CSPS), development of road infrastructure, and conducting awareness campaigns in villages. Meetings with residents from various cities across the country will also be organized to gather feedback and share information about municipal initiatives.
Koara commended the mobilization of the population and the support of traditional authorities in implementing these activities. He expressed confidence in addressing village concerns with the commitment of citizens and the support of decentralized technical services, particularly through initiatives like Faso Mebo.
Alassane Sedego, president of the Municipal Council of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), praised the initiative and expressed satisfaction with the actions taken. "We are satisfied with the actions taken and thank the PDS for its commitment," he stated.
This accountability day was organized in accordance with the provisions of articles 11 and 255 of the General Code of Local Authorities, which mandate such events to inform and exchange directly with the public about actions carried out by the special delegation.
