Nedialpoun CEG Highlights Drug Dangers at Flag-Raising Ceremony

Sanguie: The Nedialpoun CEG raises awareness about the dangers of narcotics during the flag-raising ceremony. The Nedialpoun Secondary School (CEG) held a formal flag-raising ceremony on Monday, December 8, followed by an awareness session on the dangers of drug use and the promotion of civic duty in schools. Presided over by Florent Pema Neya, the representative of the President of Burkina Faso for the Nando region, the ceremony brought together administrative and educational authorities, defense and security forces, teachers, students, and numerous members of the school community.

According to Burkina Information Agency, under the command of Police Lieutenant Jean Dabilgou, the students raised the flag while singing the national anthem in the Lyele language, a moment imbued with patriotism and unity. In her address, Grace Rasmata Guingane, the provincial director of Secondary, Vocational, and Technical Education for Sanguie, emphasized the harmful consequences of drug use, which she described as a major obstacle to teaching and learning. She called on students to abandon these prohibited practices in schools and to embrace the seven patriotic values championed by the People's Progressive Revolution: sovereignty, patriotic commitment, national unity, social justice and equity, discipline and order, work and development, and resistance to imperialism.

The students, highly receptive to her message, pledged to cultivate order and discipline, essential for academic success and community development. The meeting also provided an opportunity to showcase the new infrastructure built at the school to local authorities, thanks to the Emergency Territorial Development and Resilience Project (PUDTR). According to the head of the CEG (General Education College), these facilities will enhance the school's capacity and further motivate educational stakeholders. Participants welcomed this initiative aimed at promoting civic responsibility, preventing risky behavior, and highlighting investments made in the education sector.
