Cinkance: The Songtaaba team from Togo dominates JFCC from Cinkance with a score of 1 goal to 0. Activities promoting social cohesion and living together in the commune of Yargatenga, Koulpelogo province, concluded successfully with the organization of a gala match between the Songtaaba team from Togo and the Jeunesse Football Club of Cinkance.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was initiated by young leaders of the Yargatenga commune in collaboration with the project to build and rebuild social cohesion infrastructure. The sporting event aimed to strengthen solidarity between the border communities of Burkina Faso and Togo. The gala match, hosted on the field of AS Douanes de Cinkance, saw the Songtaaba team prevail against JFCC with a score of 1 goal to 0.
The match witnessed the presence of numerous supporters from both sister countries, emphasizing the spirit of unity and camaraderie. At the conclusion of the match, both teams were rewarded for their participation. The winning team, Songtaaba, received a set of jerseys, a ball, and an envelope containing 25,000 FCFA. The second-place team, JFCC, was awarded the same amount.
The organizers stated that the exhibition match aimed to strengthen fraternity, community spirit, and closer ties between the communities living on both sides of the border. Boukari Ouedraogo, a representative of the Danish Refugee Council, expressed satisfaction with the event's success. He commended the fair play exhibited by the players and extended gratitude to the authorities, partners, and all communities involved. Ouedraogo emphasized that there were no winners or losers; rather, it was a victory for fraternity.
