Minister Ou©draogo Applauds 2025 Achievements and Calls for Commitment in 2026

Ouagadougou: Minister Pingdwend© Gilbert Ou©draogo expressed satisfaction with the 2025 achievements of the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism during a session held on Monday. He urged his team to enhance their commitment for the upcoming year.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the second session of the Ministerial Sector Administrative Council (CASEM) for 2025 was chaired by Minister Ou©draogo on December 29, 2025. The meeting served as a platform for self-assessment, which the minister described as vital for accountability. The process allows the ministry to evaluate completed activities, identify challenges, and strategize for 2026.

Minister Ou©draogo reiterated the importance of self-evaluation in reviewing past activities to better organize future initiatives. He was speaking at the second ordinary session of the Board of Directors in Ouagadougou.

The theme for this session of CASEM focused on the management risks of cultural institutions and the role of a one-stop shop for performances. Highlighted events organized by MCCAT in 2025 included FESPACO, GALIAN, SITHO, UACO, the Nuit des Lompolo, PNET, and FILO. The ministry also celebrated Cultural Heritage Month, National Gastronomy Promotion Day, relaunched national television series productions, and opened five major exhibitions.

The minister noted significant achievements, such as inspecting over 1,118 tourist and accommodation establishments, classifying 59 of them, digitizing 6,853 archival documents, and providing support to over 1,600 operators in culture, tourism, and communication. Additionally, over 7,000 media articles were produced.

By November 30, 2025, the ministry achieved an overall implementation rate of 88.13% for its activities. Minister Ou©draogo commended stakeholders for their contributions and urged his staff to maintain their dedication to ensure the success of 2026 activities.

He emphasized the need for improved impact, strengthened governance, and rigorous monitoring and evaluation in the coming year. The minister called for stronger commitment, administrative discipline, and enhanced synergy within the ministry's structures to achieve these goals.
