Commander Abdoul Salam Kabore Rests Among His People in His Village of Sourgou

Sourgou: On Sunday, December 28, the land of Sourgou welcomed one of its most illustrious sons, the Pharmacist Commander Abdoul Salam Kabore, AIB observed on site.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Commander Kabore was the First Secretary General of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) and later served as the Minister of Health and Sports. He left an indelible mark on history with his revolutionary pragmatism, particularly through the success of the "commando vaccination" campaign-a remarkable feat that saved millions of lives and solidified his legacy in the collective memory of the people.

A steadfast loyalist, Commander Kabore remained unwavering in his convictions, even when confronted with the changing tides of history. His integrity was unshaken by imprisonment after 1987 or by any political pressure he faced. For him, Sankaraism was more than just a slogan; it was a sacred duty. He demonstrated this commitment even in his role as Mayor of Sourgou, where he exemplified that politics is, above all, a service to the people.

Beyond his foundational role in UNIR-MPS, Commander Kabore was a pivotal figure in the August 1983 Revolution, contributing both behind the scenes and in the public eye. His passing should not be regarded as an end but rather as a clarion call to remain vigilant and active. The fight for Burkinab¨ dignity continues, inspired by the enduring legacy of a man who never wavered.
