Yagha: Meeting on Wednesday at the town hall, the municipality of Reo upheld the tradition of transparency during its accountability day, AIB observed. In the presence of administrative and customary authorities and development partners, the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) Issaka Sindi Zagre presented the financial and material report for the years 2023-2024. Despite a decrease in revenue, the municipal administration maintained its course of social investments and outlined the prospects for a year 2026 under the banner of cohesion and social inclusion.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the PDS Zagre, accompanied by his collaborators, provided clear and detailed answers, thus allowing for a better understanding of the efforts made by the municipal administration. He presented a detailed report on the municipality's revenues and expenditures. Total revenues amounted to 244.674 million CFA francs, a significant decrease compared to 2023, while expenditures were contained at 193.638 million CFA francs, generating a surplus of 6.915 million.
On the investment side, the municipality completed several essential infrastructure projects, including the construction of latrine blocks, the rehabilitation of schools and health centers, as well as the development of markets and independent water points. Projects still underway were also presented: construction of popular leisure centers, development of the municipal garden and irrigated areas, rehabilitation work on municipal buildings and installation of solar systems.
Some projects remain suspended due to funding issues, particularly those supported by the Mining Development Fund. The success of these initiatives was made possible thanks to the support of development partners, notably the PUDTR project and the Pre-Gold program, which contributed to the construction and rehabilitation of school, health, and commercial infrastructure, including market stalls equipped with solar power.
The High Commissioner of Sanguie, Talari Germaine Ouoba, who was present at the event, praised the quality of the discussions and the citizen participation. She encouraged the population to support municipal initiatives, strengthen social cohesion, and become more involved in mobilizing local revenue, while emphasizing the importance of caution and moderation in collective actions and road safety.
The accountability day concluded with expressions of satisfaction and gratitude towards the municipal authorities and partners. The PDS (Democratic and Social Development Party) invited all stakeholders to continue development efforts, fostering cohesion and citizen participation, to make Reo an economically dynamic and socially inclusive municipality by 2026.
