Zondoma/education: The Special Delegation of the Boussou municipality organized a Day of Excellence on Saturday, January 10, 2026, to encourage education stakeholders who distinguished themselves through their resilience and commitment to their work.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Boussou municipality has been the most affected by security incidents in the Zondoma province. Despite this unfavorable situation, it ranked first among the five municipalities with a success rate of 94.86% in the CEP (Primary School Leaving Certificate); 60.19% in the BEPC (Junior Secondary School Leaving Certificate); and 58.33% in the BAC (High School Leaving Certificate) for the 2025 session.
For the President of the Boussou Special Delegation, Alassane Demsili, this performance, achieved under sometimes uncertain conditions, "commands admiration and deserves recognition." All of which, according to him, justifies the organization of this awards ceremony, held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Boussou Youth Center. "You have shown through your academic results that nothing can shake your determination and perseverance," emphasized Anatole Pengdwende Kabore, Secretary General of the Zondoma Province, who presided over the ceremony on behalf of the province's top official.
While reaffirming the administration's commitment to supporting these individuals, he urged them to remain steadfast in the fight against ignorance, which he believes remains fertile ground for the spread of extremism and terrorism. Laptops, leather bags, bicycles, school supplies, office supplies, certificates of recognition, and other items were presented to the most deserving participants. The award for best teacher went to Yacouba Komi of Boussou "A" Primary School, who achieved a perfect score of 100% with 43 students.
The best female teacher was Zoenabo Sankara of the Tangage School. They each received a laptop, a leather bag, and a certificate. With an average of 8.5/10, Guemilatou Balma and Abdoul Rahim Farga of Boussou "B" School won the awards for best girl and best boy, respectively, in the CEP (Certificate of Primary Education). Ranked the best school in the municipality, the headmaster of Boussou "A", Issouf Ouedraogo, expressed his joy and gratitude to the organizers who, through this ceremony, recognized the sacrifice of the teachers who braved danger daily to fulfill their mission alongside the community.
In total, more than thirty awards were presented. In addition to teachers, community leaders offered special recognition to healthcare workers and, above all, the armed forces who remained on the front lines to assist the population during the most difficult times. It should be noted that the ceremony took place in the presence of the top officials responsible for education, training, and vocational education in Zondoma.
